California Bound!

While Daddy is in Texas, Ariyana and I are taking some time to visit some family in California. We will get to see Great-Great Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jack, Pam and Rolf and their boys, and Pam Johnson among other friends. Today, is the day we get up super early - and we fly to California. For the first time in a while, Ariyana slept straight through the night and I had to wake her up to go to the airport. I'd be lying if I didn't say that I wasn't nervous about this plane trip, but over-all, Ariyana did remarkably well! She slept almost the whole way on the planes, and we are so thankful that Aunt Nancy upgraded our seats to First Class! That extra room was so valuable!

Happy Easter!

It's a tough first Easter for us, with Daddy being gone to Texas for the Army. But we certainly tried to make the best of it! It was fairly low key. Ariyana and I enjoyed the quiet day together at home and Uncle Sol came by later in the evening where we went and picked up some last minute dinner over at Wegman's. Low key, quiet and we missed Daddy lots.

Grandma & Grandpa's Easter Card

Ariyana got her Easter card in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa today.
It played music when you opened it and it had lots of bright colors.
She liked it quite a bit!

Car Ride!

Ariyana is not much of a fan of her carseat. I don't think she likes being restrained too much. No matter all the promises of fun places we may go. This is a rare happy baby girl in her car seat!

Angel bear

Grandma and Grandpa got Ariyana a Vermont Teddy Bear - Angel for her first Easter. It's embroidered with her name on it and it's very well made. I hope she will keep it for a very long time. THIS bear she will not be playing with much!

Sleeping on Daddy

Ariayana falls asleep on Daddy a lot. It's one of her fave places to nap for sure. It's amazing watching this happen over time though. She grows so fast. One day, she won't want to take naps on us, so I cherish these moments because they may end quickly.

A 2-year old birthday!

Today, we went to celebrate little Maverick's second birthday. Mav is the son of Daisy and Mike - great couple! Ariyana had a blast... except while watching hockey, Sabres scored and Daddy, who was holding Ariyana at the time, screamed and jumped. Scared the tears out of her and she let him know she was unhappy. Was kinda funny though. 

Getting really interested in toys!

Ariyana has been loving toys lately! She can't go anywhere without her little orange monkey. I think he deserves a name! I'll have to think about it. In any case, today on one of my picture taking moments, she couldn't decide which stuffed toy she liked better - her bear, or her piggy. Arfan and I bought these too stuffed toys at PB Kids a few months before I was due to have her. Makes me smile to watch her play with them now!

Most fave toy

It'sssss monkey! I don't know what it is. For the life of me, I just don't know. Must be the bright colors or something. But this monkey is Ariyana's most fave- go-to toy. No matter what. She starts to fuss, the toy comes out, and all is right with the world. She just loves this things.

Today at lunch, while Arfan had his car worked on, this toy was our life-saver before a moment of meltdown a la baby.

Penguin Suit

Arfan and I call this her, "Penguin Suit". She is so cozy in it and it's just so freaking cute. 

I threaten Arfan that I'm going to get one and wear it all the time. Now how much of a turn on is that?

By the way, we are still waiting on her hair to come in! HAH!

Sicky sick & 4 month check up

I knew it would come sooner than later. I would have rather it had not come it all. The train wreck illness, hit both me and baby girl at once. Not sure where it came from but I have my suspicions. In any case, Ariyana has a cold and fever. Plus she had her four-month check up with her doc. So she got an added dose of two inoculations. Which in all honesty, wasn't good for her as she was already under the weather. So... for the last day and a half we've both been pretty miserable. I feel like I'm in a fog and she just doesn't understand why she's feeling so poorly. Hopefully, this all ends soon. Especially because Arfan is out doing the Army thing for five days. We miss him lots already. Part of me is wanting to make a run to the drug store to pick up some saline drops for baby girl - and some ice cream for me. (an undisclosed friend said that they would make the saline drops happen for me, but that didn't happen, so whatever). Maybe she'll be okay enough to make a run real quick. But I hate the thought of her going out with a fever the way she has. The other part of me is hoping that we'll be okay without them and that her secretions will stay thin and she'll be able to breathe okay.
