Top 2- Tuesday!

I've been stalking following The Undomestic Momma, for a while now - she's got a lot of fabulous ideas and I dig her style. Anyhow, I'm jumping on her bandwagon of Top 2, Tuesdays and her topic of the day is one that has come at good timing for me. I've done a lot of wedding planning for the wedding in June, and well, I need to pick a potential hairstyle. This weeks' Top 2 theme, is:

Top 2 Celebrity Hairstyles (in my case glam updos)

1.) Love, love the way Dianna Agron did her hair for the Golden Globes this year. The whole style would look soooo perfect with the hair piece I have my eye on!

2.)  Love, love also Carrie Underwood's style here. I'm hesitant to do a full updo' as I have an impossibly high forehead, so I don't want to really accentuate it, and I know my hubby-to-be loves my hair down... so we'll see!

Getting to Know Me.

1. what inspires you?

2. what was the last thing you bought yourself?
That's gotta be new rhinestone dress shoes that I got for my up and coming wedding! Aghhhh, it's coming so close!

3. would you rather watch a movie in a theater or from the comfort of your own home?
From my own home. The couch is so much more cozy and I can cuddle a lot better. Plus, little Ariyana can join me.

4. household chore you don't mind doing?
Don't mind vacuuming or dusting. Can't stand the dishes. I loathe them.

5. coffee or tea?
I think I may need a coffee drip. It's rare now-a-days not to have cup, after I had Ariyana. I think it's a perquisite to anything that comes.

6. what could you eat every day and not get sick of??
I love, love potatoes. So many ways you can make them too so it'd never get old! Baked, roasted, french fries... mmmmm

7. what's the last book you read?
I read this for the book club I'm going too. Fabulous book, but seemed to be cut short. Over-all not disappointed.

8. do you think you look you "look" your age?
I know I don't. LOL. I think I look at least five years younger than I do... and I am pretty sure I get weird looks from people toting around an infant. HAHA. For the record, I'm 26. =)

Wakey wakey!

Now Ariyana is mostly a strict tummy sleeper. Yeah, I know I know, "back to sleep". But she won't and I've accepted that. Today, however she took a nap in her crib and slept on her back soundly. What's far more interesting though, is that instead of waking up and screaming bloody murder to be rescued, she woke up and just looked around while holding her blanket.  I just happened to go in and check on her, and this is what I found. A perfectly content little angel.

"That" Coupon Lady

I really would like to be 'that' lady. You know, the one that always seems to be in the check out line in front of you, that has oh, say twenty coupons in her purse. Yeah, I want to be that lady but I just can't get there. Especially since I've dropped crazy amounts of hours at work to stay home with the little one (mostly due to lack of reliable sitter) I've realized just how little personal money I have.

So I sat down yesterday and I really attempted to clip coupons; scoured the net for deals and net coupons... and what have I found? Two coupons on items that we actually use on a regular basis. Disappointing. For real, I found very few items in my coupon hunt that we actually use and had a need for on my next particular shopping trip. Bummer. I'll give it one more honest try before I throw in the towel to clipping coupons again. Lord knows I don't need 6 boxes of Zest Body wash et. al when nobody I know uses it. *sigh*.

Chillin' in Jammies

On the nights that Arfan goes to work, it's mommy-daughter time after 7pm. The curtains get drawn and the lights are dimmed. Ariyana and I have a few songs - me singing really badly (thank God, she doesn't mind), tummy time, stretching, and then our last feed of the night. These times I will never forget with Ariyana. She's such a doll and after the last feed she ready for sleep. I bring a drowsy, full bellied little girl to her room and she's usually asleep by 830, or so the last couple of weeks has been.

"What drool? I have drool on my face?"

This cracks me up. She is just leaning back and chillin with her arm up and over the boppy. Looks comfy! That's a standard size boppy pillow, so she really is still a tiny little baby. She's really growing into her features though, so she looks older than she is, I think!

Play time & Peas Please!

I think it's pretty obvious how adorable I think my daughter is. She's getting bigger every day. I love to watch her learn and discover new things. She's getting pretty good at hand eye coordination - just about everything she can grab goes right to her mouth. She also focuses on little small pieces on toys and plays with them. She's getting pretty good at tummy time, but she's still just rolling from her back to her tummy. They say that's harder to do, but she still hasn't figured out tummy to back yet. She still loves, loves her bounceroo from her Grandpa Sheppard. It's one of her favorite things. She wasn't too impressed when the batteries died out today though. I have to admit though, the elephant going off as the batteries started to fade, sounded more like a dying elephant - but I won't tell her that!

Today, I gave her a small taste of 'Baby's First peas', and her initial expression was priceless! Over-all she ended up liking it okay. But we're sticking to just one serving of rice cereal a day for right now. Our big girl has her four-month-old appointment on the 31st although she hit her four month mark on the 20th. Where has the time gone!?

Tummy Time in My Dress!

Ariyana has yet to see warm weather. I'd even understand cool weather. But it really has been cold-cold - if not freezing here in Buffalo since she's been here. It wasn't going to stop me from putting her in a cute little dress, if anything for pictures. Not that her little sleepers, aren't cute, but doesn't every girl need to get all dolled up every now and then? =)

"I love my dress, Mommy - but may we take this off now?"

OM NOM NOM NOM

She loves to stare at the light on my ceiling.

Workin' on a little tummy time.

I love her pouty lips

One of her favorite things to do is blow bubbles.

Attempt at being less undomestic

Perhaps baking bread is a step in the right direction towards being more domestic than I most often am not? In any case, this bread I made was pretty gosh darn good.

With any luck, Arfan will have some when he gets home from work!

Adventures in Rice Cereal!

So I finally thought that we could try a little bit of rice cereal, thinned out with a bit of expressed milk. We think it was a very successful experience! Next on the menu of solids is baby peas!

First bite... hmmm... what do we think?

Still trying to figure out this spoon. Trying to help mom.

MORE PLEASE!

Oh boy!

Daddy decided that we needed to get a bib!

Yummy!

That was pretty good stuff!

Top 2 Tuesday!

So, the undomesticmomma is a blog that I have been following lately. If for anything but something new to blog about, I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon and participate in her Top Two Tuesdays, and Must have Monday's.

Today's Top 2 Tuesday is:

Top 2 Dream Rooms!

1.) My sweet little girl has the ultimate dream room I could create for her within the limits of my mind, and the size of her room. So, since she is taken care of, I'd have to say my first choice would be my own craft room. This one, found on a random search, would be pretty awesome to have in my next home:

I would most definitely want a place to store all my 'need-to-use photos', craft supplies and papers, ribbon, etc.

2.) I would love, love a wonderful master suite. My man and I, well we don't quite have that right now. Not at all. To be honest, it's a train wreck in there, with who knows how many abstract piles of laundry, hopefully mostly clean - but more than likely dirty...
I look forward, so much to our own master retreat.
Something like this perhaps?

Lets be honest here, I would love, love a fireplace in our master bedroom. With a big comfy down comforter and a calming atmosphere, that's light and airy, with a sitting area. Now, I won't get into the master closet and on suite bath. A girl can dream right?

Buffalo Botanical Gardens

Today, the three of us visited the Buffalo Botanical Gardens. It was so wonderful to see Ariyana getting to see and experience all that there is for the very first time. Everything is so new to her, and I can only imagine what she was thinking when she saw all she did today for the first time.

On the way to the Gardens, Ariyana is showing how she has been enjoying her car seat lately.
Which is not much. She doesn't like to be restrained.

Checking out the texture of some of the greenery.

Wanting to eat the greenery. Mommy didn't go for it.

Making a new friend.

Cold hands!

Pretty flowers!

How about these ones? Can I eat these ones?
Double-fisting it. I like to gnaw on my fingers. Starting to get my teeth already.

Oh! A fern!

My fern?

Splashing in the waterfall.

One of the garden rooms.

Daddy and I checking out the Koi fish

OM NOM NOM NOM again

Tired on the way home. What a great day!

Must Have Monday!

41-CRLJFABL._SL500_AA300_.jpg
This, is the Fisher Price, Rainforest Jumperoo.
In all seriousness, this provides me at least ten minutes (well, most of the time) of free time, by way of entertaining my little darling. This is outstanding because she quite frankly doesn't put up with hanging  by herself much. Which I love in some ways, but when the dishes need to get done, or laundry, or some other dreaded task, this does the trick for the longest amount of time. Not, the Bumbo, playmat, or bouncer will provide this much entertainment for my little girl. And guess what, today, I actually got the dishes done! =)

Awwww, come on now!

Yeah, I knew it was bound to happen sooner than later. But this one was pretty gosh darn yucky.
Yup, the blow out. Where poop just wouldn't stay in the diaper. Needless to say, Ariyana had an extra bath today.
